Biography

Shelley Porteous is interested in drawing, painting and community art. She is committed to raising awareness of the environmental problems and issues of Hamilton and involving diverse communities, and groups in this effort.

Shelley was the co-ordinator of a Friends of the Environment project which enlisted ICAA artists and local environmentalists to assist in introducing the students of the ICAA Professional Art School to the local Hamilton environment.

Shelley is an ICAA board member and helps in ICAA's outreach programs. Her daughter, Ashmita has also participated in the activities, and exhibitions of ICAA's Professional Art School.
