Biography
Guennadi, born in 1957 in Russia, is an artist and graphic designer. He finished Art School in Zelenodoisk and then attended the College of Arts in Kazan. He graduated from the History Department of the Kazan State University in 1987
Guennadi first worked in the traditional technique of oil painting and painting with tempera. He has had several exhibitions of his paintings in Russia. He also worked as a restaurateur and icon painter for Russian Orthodox churches. Later he developed the multimedia education program for teaching the techniques of old Russian icon painting.
Since 1987, Guennadi has worked as a graphic designer in the Computing Center at Kazan State University. He was involved in a joint project between McMaster University and the Kazan State University. Between 1990 and 1996 he was invited on three separate occasions by McMaster University to work on the development of instructional materials to teach the Russian language to English speaking students.
For the last seven years, Guennadi has worked mainly as a computer graphic designer and is a member of the Designers Union of Russia. He has developed designs for advertising materials, packing boxes and illustrations for different companies and publishers.
Guennadi now lives in Canada and works both in traditional oil painting, doing beautiful Canadian landscapes, and computer web and graphic designs.
