Shawarma is meat, either chicken or beef, that is cooked on a steel stick. It also includes radishes, spices and salt. It is eaten wrapped in a pita, with onions, vegetables and sauces.

Sheikh Al Muhshi is meat wrapped inside curcumas served with yogurt.

Humus is made from chick peas powder fried in oil with garlic, spices and salt. Humus is served with salads, entries and main meals.

    Hejab, 40% of women wear hejab.

    Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Lebanon and Turkey.

    Mostly desert; hot, dry, sunny summers (June to August) and mild, rainy winters (December to February) along coast; cold weather with snow or sleet periodically in Damascus.
